100 Posts and Challenge Summary!

I truly cannot think of any better way to end this years’ Blogging from A-Z Challenge. “Writings on Writing: Do You Indulge?” for my “Z” post marked my 100th blog post on The Wordy Rose and I am absolutely thrilled at how far my little blog has come.

This past month has been amazing. I have further developed so many great friendships and writing relationships with fellow bloggers and authors (friendships I hope to continue!!) and not only met, but exceeded all of my numbers-based goals and past records. I forced myself to step out of my comfort zone in writing about topics that interested me, but I wasn’t sure that I was in any way accomplished enough to give any advice or instruction on. I was floored at the feedback and discussions that ensued based off my posts, which gave me a much needed boost of esteem-related motivation. πŸ™‚

I am proud that I stuck to my guns and wrote every single day. A personal challenge to myself through this blog challenge was to write original content each day versus pre-writing and scheduling. I only had to do this once on an out-of-town trip in which I had no internet that day. I managed to slip away the day before to a coffee shop (yay free WiFi!) and edited the draft theΒ day of prior to posting.Β I still managed to comment and participate the day of via the WordPress app, so I feel that I met this personal objective of mine.

Bottom line, I not only met but exceeded the goals I set for myself (both numbers-related and non) and ended this challenge with reaching “100 Posts.” Going forward, I hope to post a minimum of 1-2 times a week, and am going to start posting short fiction and prose, something that I’m nervous to do, but am eagerly looking forward to sharing more personal writing and fiction!

Much love to everyone who has encouraged me during this challenge, who have started up discussions, and who have motivated and inspired me to be a better writer. My blog wouldn’t be where it is today without the support of all of you wonderful individuals!!

  1. Congratulations on completing the A-Z challenge. It was a tremendous undertaking. Whatever will we write about now?

  2. I may have been quiet throughout the challenge, but I have been reading and enjoying your posts. Congratulations for reaching 100 posts and well done for finally crossing the finishing line that is the A-Z Challenge!

  3. Apparently my Z post was my 50th. Congratulations on completing the challenge and on all success you’ve attained through your wonderful posts.

    1. Yay!! Congrats on your 50th!!

And thank you! I’ve really enjoyed your snarky sense of humor and fantastic writing, and definitely will not lose touch! πŸ™‚

  4. Try explaining that to a non-blogger and you get a blank stare. Share it with your blogging community and everyone celebrates with you! πŸ™‚
Congratulations on both surviving the A-Z … not a minor undertaking!! … and your 100th post πŸ™‚

  5. Wooo hooo! Well done you! What wonderful and inspiring post! Just goes to show what we can do when we push ourselves out of our comfort zones. Well done on being brave and on all your efforts. And congratulations on exceeding your goals.

    1. Thank you so much!! I’m going to really push myself out of my comfort zone going forward and will start posting flash and short fiction. THAT is the stuff I am most nervous about sharing. But I’ve realized through this challenge that I have such an amazing and supportive community here, what better place to start sharing that type of writing?!

      1. Absolutely. Everyone I have met blogging has been wonderfully supportive. And that’s the great thing about stretching comfort zones, once you’ve done it you can always find somewhere else to stretch them and you have also gained more confidence to do it. I look forward to reading your fiction.
