It is almost that time!! Over the past few months, I have been playing around with some themes to adhere to in this years’ Blogging from A to Z Challenge. I didn’t really have a theme during the last challenge, and ended up picking random topics to muse about, argue over, and write little pieces of prose or poetry on. Though this method may work for some, it ended up being a tad more hectic that I had wanted. I found myself scrambling to find a topic and write something that didn’t resemble a muddle of crap-like words last minute a few more times than I’d care to admit. Wanting a bit more structure this go around, I’m fairly set on the theme of “Writing.”
I absolutely love reading about this topic. Books like “Bird by Bird” by Anne Lamott, “On Writing” by Stephen King, and various essays by some of my favorite writers are almost bible-like to me. I soak in all of the advice these idols of mine offer, read books again and again, print out essays, take notes and highlight passages with an obsessive ferocity, and implement their tips and tricks into my own routines and methods.
Since this is a topic I love reading, writing, and talking about, it seemed like an obvious winner for me. Blogging has helped me with my ongoing desire to constantly evolve and grow as an individual and as a writer. As such, my primary goal in this challenge (aside from not falling behind, sticking to the objectives, and writing daily) is to work towards developing my craft even more. I hope to start up some productive conversations with writers I have already established fantastic relationships with, and build new friendships with other writers with similar goals and motivations. I’m looking forward to discussing a variety of writing-related topics with you, getting feedback and advice, and talking about our practices and routines.
Anyone else gearing up for the A-Z Blogging Challenge? If so, are you doing random posts or sticking with a theme?
Happy Writing!!! 🙂
